DURHAM, N.C., July 20, 2023 – PRNewswire — Bull City Summit (BCS) is back with an expanded program for its second edition. After a successful pilot event in 2022, BCS returns to Durham, North Carolina from September 18-24. This year, expect an even bigger celebration of innovation in music, the arts, science, and technology. The festival will include live music, art exhibitions, brand activations, and community events. Building on last year’s success, BCS now offers a week-long array of programming.

Keynote Speakers and Panel Highlights

Bull City Summit 2023 features an impressive lineup of keynote speakers. Harvey Mason Jr., President & CEO of The Recording Academy and The Grammys, will kick off the music keynotes. He’ll discuss Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning’s impact on the music industry. Following him, Donnie Estopinal, Founder & CEO of Disco Donnie Presents, will reflect on his influence in North American electronic music. He’ll also address the state of electronic music post-pandemic and explore the intersection of music, art, and entrepreneurship.

Rick French, Chairman and CEO of French West Vaughan, will lead a panel on post-pandemic entertainment advertising. This discussion, moderated by Alexandra Greenberg of Falcon Publicity, will cover sponsorship and public relations strategies.

Exploring Future Technologies

On the second day of the conference, Mark Yusko, CEO & CIO of Morgan Creek Capital Management, will return to discuss Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain, and Web3. He’ll highlight what he predicts as a new “crypto bull market” for late 2023. Panels will also explore Esports, the Metaverse, and Cannabis. Nihal Mehta of Eniac Ventures will present a keynote on the Ethics of AI. Additionally, Sig Greenebaum, former Head of Global Live Events for Overwatch League, will discuss the State of Esports.

Art and Personal Branding

Bull City Summit’s art programming begins with a keynote from Dabney Hailey, Founder and CEO of The Hailey Group. Hailey will explore the cognitive impact of art on behavioral growth. Amie Thompson, President & CEO of Creative Allies, will discuss personal branding and entrepreneurship in the visual arts. Carl Nordgren, Durham-based author and professor, will also present on the relationship between creative genius, politics, and culture. Over 30 additional speakers will cover topics including LGBTQ rights, climate change, and entrepreneurship.

Philanthropy and Community Engagement

The summit kicks off with a benefit concert on September 18 at Motorco Music Hall. North Carolina Soul Icon Lee Fields will perform to support Families and Communities Rising (FCR). FCR, the official Non-Profit Fiscal Agent of BCS, has a 50+ year history of transforming lives. They use evidence-based frameworks to positively influence vulnerable children, families, and communities. Throughout the week, FCR and other local organizations will participate in BCS events, happy hours, concerts, and community activities.
